CALLERLAB is working hard to keep up with the ramifications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The purpose of this page is to provide you with timely and relevant information about the impact of the pandemic on our square dance activity.

We are endevouring to reference only trusted and authoritative sources of information. Misinformation about COVID-19 is spreading even more rapidly than the pandemic itself. We urge you to always check with one of these trusted sources to avoid retransmiting inaccurate information or rumour you may encounter on various social media.

2020 CALLERLAB Convention is CANCELLED - click for information

On March 14 CALLERLAB officially announced the cancellation of our annual convention scheduled to be held in Reno, NV from April 5 to April 8. The first item below provides information from the Home Office regarding how they are following up with people who were registered for the convention. Following that are two announcement letters about the cancelation, the first to the general membership and the second to people who had registered for convention.

Home Office Actions
The Home Office has been contacting those who were registered for convention individually. If you were registered for convention you should have received an email with information on the status of your account and the options available to you. You may ask for a refund, apply the funds to the 2021 convention in Grapevine, TX, or apply the funds to your membership renewal.

Cancellation Letter to General Members
Dear CALLERLAB Member:

As you are aware, the situation in the United States and around the world regarding COVID-19 is reaching dangerous proportions for individuals and their loved ones. After much deliberation and monitoring of the situation the past few weeks, the CALLERLAB Board of Governors and the Executive Committee has decided to cancel this year’s Convention in Reno Nevada.

CALLERLAB Leadership recognizes the importance of such a decision and wants to ensure the safety of our members during this critical time. We are asking all of you to take whatever precautionary steps you personally feel you need to keep yourselves and families safe. CALLERLAB values your dedication to the activity and we want to ensure our members are informed of this decision.

CALLERLAB Leadership looks forward to your attendance in Grapevine, Texas next year for what will be a fantastic convention. The Board of Governors and the Executive Committee will continue to conduct CALLERLAB Business throughout the year and we will be working on carrying over many of the major efforts we had planned for this year’s convention and incorporate it into next years.

Letter to Convention Registrants
Dear Convention Attendees,

We are sad to report that due to the COVID-19 virus, and after much deliberation during the past few weeks, the CALLERLAB Board of Governors and the Executive Committee has decided to cancel this year’s Convention in Reno Nevada.

If you have made hotel room reservations, please call the Nugget at 1-800-648-1177 or 1-775-356-3300 and cancel noting the CALLERLAB code of GCLAB20. You should not be charged a cancelation fee.

Registration fees are fully refundable. We only need to know if you wish a full refund, or roll the deposit to a future convention, or use to pay membership renewals. The Home Office will be in contact with each of you next week to determine how you wish to use your convention deposit.

We appreciate your patience and understanding while the Executive Committee, Home Office and Board of Governors evaluated the action needed. This decision was not made lightly however the final unanimous decision by the Board emphasizes our desires to protect our members, attendees, families and friends.
